WHY HOME CARE INSTEAD OF RESIDENTIAL CARE SERVICES?
As mentioned, there are many different types of home and private care services that we provide, ranging from domiciliary care to senior care. There have been a lot of studies that have suggested that people prefer to live in their own home rather than going to a private residential care home when they get any disability. This is because they feel comfortable in their own home and they want to maintain a level of independence. This is something that the live-in carer can help you to achieve. After all, moving to a new home can be stressful for anyone. When you couple this with the fact that you will be moving into a residential care facility, with set visiting times, set meals, and set routines, it is not hard to see why someone would not be overly excited about this. However, it is important to realise that residential care homes are not the only option. You can still enjoy life with your loved one to get the care and assistance that you deserve without making your move into one of the private care homes. In home care means that you will be able to keep to the same daily routines as usual and that friends and family members will still be able to visit you as they would usually do. The only difference is it you will have an experienced carer who will be there to provide a regulated service. This means that they will provide you with all the help and assistance that you need, like you would get in residential homes, so that you can live a happy and healthy life in your home without having to rely on residential care homes.
WHAT DOES A LIVE-IN CARER DO?
A live-in carer will provide assistance with a selection of different domestic tasks described above. They make it possible for anybody who needs care to live in an environment that is comfortable, clean, and safe without having to go to a shared home. When you benefit from our service, we will provide any sort of tasks and routines that you need assistance with. These tasks will be based on your personal requirements and what is most important to you. Below, we will outline some of the different home care services that we provide to give you a better understanding. It is important to note that this is not an exhaustive list. Therefore, please do not hesitate to ask us if you have any specific requirements. So, some of the things that we will be able to assist you with are as follows…
MAINTAINING YOUR INDEPENDENCE
One thing that we can help you to do is to maintain your independence. This is the number one reason why people do not want to move into a residential facility. We can support you in getting out and about. This could be anything from enjoying some time with your friends and family to going to the cinema or doing some shopping. We can also help with assisted holidays as well.
HELP AROUND THE HOME
There are a number of different tasks that we can help with around the home. This includes running errands, for example, shopping for groceries and collecting prescriptions. We can also provide pet care if you have a pet, including feeding and walks. We will assist with the preparation and cooking of meals and these will be suited to your personal taste and dietary requirements. We can also help with the laundry, including washing, drying, and ironing clothes. Aside from this, we will assist with housekeeping matters, which consists of all of the regular chores, for example, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and tidying.
PERSONAL CARE AND PERSONALISED SUPPORT
We can also provide personalised in home care and support to suit your needs. . This includes companionship. Often, carers will become more like companions and friends, as they will provide emotional support, share special moments, and enjoy meals together. We can also provide support with mobility. This includes assistance moving around the home in a safe manner as well as altering bed position and hoist transfers. Aside from this, we can help with continence care, personal care, and medications support.
WHY CHOOSE US?
While there may be a lot of providers in Australia that are offering similar services, we truly believe that we are one of the best. There are a number of reasons why this is the case. The main reason is because we offer flexible home care packages options. This means that we can tailor our care service to suit you choice, convenience and unique needs. We recognise everyone has different needs and care can never be a one size fits all solution. This is why we make the effort to get to know you. We understand your likes and interests and we get to know the things that you do not like as well. We do this so that we can make sure that we enhance your life in every way possible. When you choose our service, you can be sure that ADC will be a positive experience for everyone involved.
THE PROCESS OF ARRANGING RESIDENTIAL CARE SERVICES
If you want to arrange home care with our team, the process is really easy. There are a number of simple steps that you are going to need to follow. The first thing you need to do is give us a call so that you can speak to our team. This will be a carer that not only meets your requirements in terms of providing you with health care also someone that is going to fit into your home perfectly so that you feel comfortable. We will also make sure the extra support is provided during the arrival stage. After this, we will provide regular reviews and carer supervision, as well as offering different support services as and when you need them. So, what are you waiting for? Give us a call today. We promise it will be the best thing you can do for you and your family.
Enjoy the company of well mannered, highly skilled and entertaining carers of your choice At Affection Disability Care (ADC), we not only focus on the service side of in-home care (professionalism, safety, quality standards, etc), but also put a lot of emphasis on the relationship between you and your carers. We try our best to provide compassionate services as well. A best quality services without friendly gestures is not as effective as a standard services with smiles.
That’s because successful in-home care is greatly dependent on whether or not you like your carer/s. Those relationships are too important to compromise, which is why we carefully match our clients and carers.
It is really important to us that you feel comfortable with your carers. After all, you’re welcoming these people into your home and trusting them to care for you, sometimes in high privacy. You’ll be seeing them regularly, probably every day. That’s why it’s our concern that you enjoy their company at all times.
When you choose ADC as your service provider, we spend time getting to know you. We ask about your hobbies, interests, family, professional background, culture and values.
With the experience of many, we’ve learnt that no two clients are alike. Maybe you’re lively and mischievous. Maybe you’re quiet and thoughtful. Spending time with you helps us work out which carers are likely to be on your perception.
This is the other side of the same coin. People are remarkably diverse. With every new appointment, we ask our staff about their likes and dislikes and note them down on their paperwork. As we work with them, we learn more about them – whether they serious, jolly, whether they like the company or prefer a good book instead, what makes them laugh, what motivates and inspires them.
We pair you with at least two to three carers who are likely to be a well suited for you. That means that, even if your favourite carer is on holiday, you’ll still be looked after by someone you’re comfortable with. After carefully pairing you with the most suitable carers, we then make sure you receive continual care from those people. We carefully schedule our rosters to allocate best carers for our clients, sometimes we don’t get it right the first time. So, if you’re not comfortable with your allocated carers, please let us know. We’re more than happy to try a different carer and see if that person suits you better. We want you to be comfortable and relaxed with your carers. In our experience, it’s relatively unusual for a service provider to put so much emphasis on matching clients and carers. Maybe it’s unusual in your experience too. Perhaps your current provider just assigned your carers without even asking you about the sort of people you’d feel at ease with. The end result is that you groan inwardly every time a certain carer appears at your door.
Our cares are very well trained to understand and comply with the specific needs of our clients. We can also provide personalised residential care support to suit you. This includes companionship. Often, our carers will become more like companions and friends, as they will provide emotional support, share special moments, and enjoy meals together.
While being supported by ADC, you would always have a choice about the carers you have and the people who come into your home. While working to match the client-carers mix, we also take into account;
For a sustainable services and a continual caregiver/client matches, we appreciate our carers to posses the following attributes:
